Hello!

I am a classical pianist with a variety of hobbies. In the summer I fly gas powered R/C aircraft in aerobatics competitions around the Midwest. I shoot in IDPA and USPSA competitions and am an M1911 (and Colt) zealot. :D

I am beginning to acquire a keen interest in collecting guns from the late 19th through the 20th century. The knowledgeable contributors to this forum will teach me quite a bit.

Respectfully,
Nate

A classical pianist eh? I guess the Kid and I will have to start wearing pants when we visit the forum from now on. We have classy company among us. (Not to take anything away from any current members...)

Thanks!

Thank you for the kind welcome everybody!

Say, do Zealots take pictures of their Guns?
Why yes, we zealots do occasionally take a picture or two. Here's one to whet your appetite. ;)

Colt 1908 Vest Pocket - This particular pistol was manufactured in 1919. Total production for that year was 43,000. Total production for the 40 years of manufacture (1908 - 1948) was a little over 420,000. I'd say it has about 80% of bluing and most all case hardening remaining. There is some slight rust under the grip panels. The bore is still a mirror after all these years. It holds no collector value as it is not US marked (rare) or in excellent + condition; however, it is fun to shoot every now and then. At least Wolff still makes a spring kit to service them.
