Hello!

I am a classical pianist with a variety of hobbies. In the summer I fly gas powered R/C aircraft in aerobatics competitions around the Midwest. I shoot in IDPA and USPSA competitions and am an M1911 (and Colt) zealot.

I am beginning to acquire a keen interest in collecting guns from the late 19th through the 20th century. The knowledgeable contributors to this forum will teach me quite a bit.

Why yes, we zealots do occasionally take a picture or two. Here's one to whet your appetite.

Colt 1908 Vest Pocket - This particular pistol was manufactured in 1919. Total production for that year was 43,000. Total production for the 40 years of manufacture (1908 - 1948) was a little over 420,000. I'd say it has about 80% of bluing and most all case hardening remaining. There is some slight rust under the grip panels. The bore is still a mirror after all these years. It holds no collector value as it is not US marked (rare) or in excellent + condition; however, it is fun to shoot every now and then. At least Wolff still makes a spring kit to service them.
