I do not know how to post pics, can someone accept a private e-mail and help me id the grips I have.I need to know if they are correct for my 1977 Trooper Mark III Thanks.

There were two types of wood grips made for the Colt Trooper Mark III.
The early through mid-production were square butt, late production were the same grip only with a rounded off butt.

First type square butt:


Late production rounded butt.


Inside Mark III grips. Same for both square and rounded grips:

I have a set of both for the Trooper MK III I sent back to Colt for refinishing. I think I like the looks of the older ones but the rounded ones feel a little better in my hand. Which do you folks prefer?

Thanks, mine are the ones up on top. I guess they're not correct for my 1977 dob.I got confused by the pics posted on the 2nd page here. Thanks all.

Those are probably the original grips.

The rounded grips didn't appear until late in the Mark III production.
The Mark III was produced until 1983.
