I am always curious about the wisdom of tie wraps. Someone, somewhere down the line has to figure out how to cut them off without accidentally damaging the finish with the cutting tool.

Agreed. The problem come in when people insist on pulling them as tight as they'll go. And they make it worse by using the heavy duty ties. That isn't necessary to stop the gun being cycled by curious tire kickers. Just leaving a bit of slack in the tie solves the problem.

No offense to anyone intended, but regarding the gun shown in Post #7: Poor lighting and photography make the gun look horrible...possibly worse than it looks in real life.
