I have 2 Colts that I’m trying to locate information on. I purchased them many years ago, after the owner passed and his collection was being split up. I’m now starting to dig into the back grounds. The 1st being what I understand to be an 1860 Army. The numbers all match and reflect mfg year of 1861. Internet searches have kind of sent me around in circles with conflicting info, so any additional information would be greatly appreciated.

Nice gun, but a replica of a 1851 Navy Model. If it is a Colt, you can go to the Colt Web Site and enter the serial number for the date of manufacture.

It looks dead on like my 1980ish 2nd generation “F series” 1851 Navy. I think a little less value than a 1870s “C Series”. It looks just like mine down to a couple little blemishes. If there just Colt markings on it and no distributors or foreign makers mark it sure looks like a 2nd Gen ‘51 Navy to me.
