I am a 56 year old male who has been shooting all of his life. I was taught how to shoot bu my great uncle who was an old yellowleg cavalry trooper. His last assignment had been chasing Pancho Villa with Black Jack Pershing. A horse stepped on his foot, crushing it. He took his mustering out pay and bought a farm up here. He kept his .45 and his Springfield and put them both to good use on the farm.

I recently retired from working communications for a small police department. Even though I was not a sworn officer, my supervisor insisted on me becoming proficient with a pistol for my own protection.

I bought a Detective Special after I got sick of clearing jams from the various semi-autos, both my own and department issue. I am happy and have not looked back.

Welcome to the forum. As a collector of Detective Specials I can certainly relate.
