Just joined the forum and I am looking for a OWB pancake holster for a 77-78 Colt Police Positive Special I recently purchased. I found a DeSantis IWB but it carries too low and right now I am just looking for an OWB, either leather or nylon.


I have a Mernickle for my Ruger Flattop and will order one from them for next summer, but for now I am just looking for a close fit.

I had a Super Belt Slide from Uncle Mike's a while back and found it to be OK, so nylon is not out of the question. I haven't found anything for a D frame with 4" barrel and I don't want 2" of barrel hanging below a Detective Special holster, but I also don't want my Colt flopping around in a K/L frame size holster.

I probably will try one out, but I have also looked into a Lobo Model 1 pancake. I received an email from him today and he said he could make a Model 1 pancake for my PPS with 4' barrel and lug. I just finished reading some positive reviews on his holsters and will probably order one in a few days.
