I've had my eye on an unfired Detective Special lately, but this one showed up and I decided to bring it home. It has a slight bit of muzzle wear from being holstered and there is a small blemish on the left grip panel. Other than that this gun is in great shape. The gentleman I bought it from said he was the second owner, and that even though the gun has been carried some, he estimates around 150 rounds have been shot through it. I'm no expert, but from my examination, it does seem to be lightly fired. I paid $425 for it and gladly drove an hour to pick it up.

From someone like me whose only Colt DAs are New Services an opinion may not be worth much. But anytime you can get into Colt wheel guns with one as nice as that, gets my approval and encouragement. Bravo.

Congtratulations, Doc! That is a nice piece. Ain't it kinda strangely joyous how you can just stumble into something this sweet? I acquired my first Colt wheelgun last year myself, in pretty much the same way. Enjoy!
