I just aquired a S&W new model 3 that was shipped to W.F. Sheard in Tacoma, Washington. Sheard, was the sight inventor, he also had a shop in Livingston Montana. W. F. Sheard was a professional shooter, trophy hunter, guide, outfitter and fur dealer. The gun I picked up was shipped in 1896 and is in 44 Russian caliber. I was wondering how many Colt and Smith & Wesson hand guns were shipped to him. I know many Winchesters went through his doors and he stamped them. Can't find as much info on the handguns other than he made the gold bead target sights for S&W.
