I got my 4" blue last spring for $900. Good shape, faint turn line, holster wear on muzzle and front end of the cylinder. Shoots nice. Heavy gun dampens recoil well. I sometimes carry it in a shoulder holster...pants don't stay up on a belt.

That sounds pretty good. The way I look at it is if that gun were made today the msrp would be around 1100-1200 $, so used ones would go for about what you paid. It is nice that you got a shooter rather than a safe queen I lucked out this yr and found a 95% 6 inch bright stainless for $625 ,no box and rubber grips. Everyone I told was shocked. A LGS I haunt had a 4 inch blue in condition 99% ,no box for $1100. I f you like these bull strong Colts ,get a Lawman or Trooper Mark 3 , while they are still affordable. ADD a Wolff 13lb spring and the action is as good or better than the Mark V. Enjoy. Said it before , this is the revolver to bring back with a Python style barrel.

A follow up question 6" Blue vs BSS, which is rarer?
Probably not a big difference in production numbers, but the Bright Stainless (True Factory Bright, not Bubba Bright:)) is defintely a little scarcer imo.
