If you have a Colt New frontier in say .45 cal. I know the factory loads like remington ,Winchester,Federal etc that fire 200-250 grain bullets just under 1000fps are safe. Mr. Elmer Keith use to handload his 44 specials to 1250fps with 250 grain bullets in SAA. Are the loads like Buffalo Bores 300gr 1200fps ammo considered mild hot loads and safe to use for the Colt NF? I suppose calling the company and asking for SAMI pressures on that load would give me a guideline.Anyone know where you draw the line?

New Frontiers aren't any stronger than the standard SAA's, so standard factory loads are the upper limit. Buffalo Bores 300 grain, 1200 fps load is for Ruger BlackHawks and RedHawks, and maybe the Anaconda. Read the warnings on the website and keep those loads away from your New Frontiers.
