I also collect interesting patches but am stumped on this " Rod and Gun Club " patch

I was wondering if anyone had a clue about the club it represented. Or is it a fantasy patch?

The "dot" on the map of Africa on the patch looks like it is Libya, maybe Tripoli more precisely.
In reading the style of the patch, it appears to be of an older construction, maybe 50's or 60's as there is a felt/wool base with gauze on the back.

So was there really an english speaking group of folks that had a " Rod and Gun Club " in that part of the world?

Thanks for your comments!

I was in Germany 83 to 87 and about 86 the Army started to consolidate the Rod and Gun Club's into the Club system. What it meant to us at Grafenhower was we lost the snack bar. I was told to eat at one of the clubs. They did have a patch but I never got one.
Nice patches. Thanks for showing them off. Now I can add to my documentation another time that the patches were in use. Yours is the first Naples patch I've seen but then again I've only been researching and collecting for a little over a year now. I've seen the Naples design on what looked like a wine pitcher. Paul
I'm documenting and collecting US military rod & gun clubs in Europe, Africa, and Middle East. Does anyone have any of the club patches, pins, badges, medals, etc. for sale or any photos or stories to share? Any help is appreciated.

FT Belvoir had a small rod & gun club, down at the basin. My company did some work on the pistol range there the second time I was stationed there, ca 1972-73. I will look for a patch, but don't remember one.

Documenting and collecting US military rod & gun clubs ONLY in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Since these clubs were recreational and their patches and pins were not worn on uniforms most insignia collectors do not care about them.
Appreciate any help. Paul
