I have become a sucker for Model N's. Just picked up this one serial number 7761, will get the full one up later. Anyway made 1910, engraved. figured I'd show how far the addiction goes so far anyway.

Very nice find!. So whats it going to be Mike, ivory or pearl ?.
I have a set of ivories and one of pearls. I would really like a set of wooden Fleur de Lis with deep dish medallions.
Nice Grab Mike. I signed on to the big site tonight and spotted that one with just a few minutes to go in the auction and thought someone was getting a great buy, glad it was a Member! Congrats.
Thank you all for your kind comments. After research I've had to reconsider the appropriate grips. So it will be round top no medallion ivories. The FDL square top medallions didn't come out until 1913 and this is a 1910 vintage Colt.
Beautiful guns Mike,I wish I had problems deciding what grips! Nick

If you wanted to go over the top you could have Paul Persinger do a set of ivories that look like the originals. He can duplicate just about any design. This is a set he did for my Pocket Positive and followed the original hard rubber design.

What a beauty. I love mine and it's a nice shooter. I am looking for a HR right sided grip to replace the one on my 1908 VP that has a chunk out of the bottom. It needs the Rampant Colt without the C intertwined. Mine was made in 1920. Not trying to hijack the thread but all this talk about M 1908 Grips got me wondering.... :)
OMG will it ever stop .I 've done it again.

I am on the road I will check my parts box when I get home. What I think I remember is a right side correct configuration but sun faded to brown. If so it will not be a restoration but will at least allow you to shoot without gouging your finger. it will be pretty cheap to since it is faded.
Hi Mike. That should work fine. When you get a chance after you get back, just let me know. Thanks, Chris
Mike,

I'm a sucker for 'em, too! Mind if I share? On the left an early one (1910) and on the right a late one (1934).

Thanks for posting.

Regards,

Ed B.

Here are two of the tougher to find Colt 1908 Vest Pocket .25 ACP standard variations:

Colt Model 1908 Pocket .25ACP Pistol : Curios & Relics at GunBroker.com

COLT AUTOMATIC / JUNIOR 25 ACP. SEMI AUTO : Semi Auto Pistols at GunBroker.com

Both examples have the forward facing flush medallion stocks. These stocks also have a slightly different profile than the later standard checkered walnut stocks.

I have actually used black shoe polish on faded grips - inexpensive and they look good, too.

If no one here is after them I will be. Let me know if I need to back off.
Nice to know I am among others like myself... Sweet engravings!

I have begun collecting the model N, and something tells me that it will only speed up now that my C&R came through this week... :)
Well I got the ivories I ordered for the blued engraved gun. The grips it came with were nice but not period correct as they were square topped. I ask Mike Poulin to make a set of round top ivories with no medallions which is also correct for a 1909 vintage Model N. Hope you like his work I sure do.
