This is available to me.

Is it a Springfield 1911 .22 lr Conversion Kit? If not, what is it?

What parts, if any, are missing?

Do the units work very well?

How many years were they made? What is estimated value?

No one knows anything about this unit? The casings are hollowed shells that alloy a 22 lr cartridge to be loaded into them. The barrel is a rifled .22 cal. It was on a table at a local gun show and he was asking $250.

i would think you would have to cycle the slide manually.
maybe worth the money if rare, but i don't see a real draw for practical use.
just my observation, and i have been known to be wrong before. :D

AFAIK Springfield Armory never made anything like that. It looks fairly similar to the units that the Norwegians made for the Kongsberg .45s but it should have Norwegian proof marks on it.
