I promised my wife my gun purchases would stop for an extended time and admitted to having a problem:D I still get on GunBroker and other sites just to look:) Well yesterday I found a new, recent production, NIB SAA P1840 45, 4-3/4", for the "Buy it Now" price of $1749. I had to look twice and confirm it and couldn't believe it hadn't been snatched up yet. People were bidding on it and it had 10 bids already. So.....you guessed it, time to try and hide this from the wife for awhile.

This reminds me of when I was married,I came home w/another colt & my wife said "u didn't NEED another gun" & I said "no but I WANTED it then I told her I didn't buy it but had traded for it" & she said OK that's different.About a week later she was going thru the clothes getting ready to do the laundry & found the receipt in my shirt pocket showing that I bought it & that's when s**t hit the fan.

I never make promises I know I cant or wont keep. " once we practice to deceive what a tangled web we weave ".

NEVER lie to the spouse. NEVER! Dishonesty only leads to more dishonesty, which leads to very expensive endings. just tell the truth from the start. Tis better to ask forgiveness than permission. I always just say "Oh lookey! Ima gonna get this" as she looks at whatever it is, rolls her eyes and says "Thats nice". Guess I'm lucky. My wife knows I work hard for what I have, and knows the bills always get paid first, so never complains about my toys.

They do like diamonds, that's for sure........
I'm out of the market for a while. I put $2K in my mouth last week.
It may be a drought here until the fiduciary arrangement can recover somewhat.
Y'all will recall that my ordnance budget is already gone through 2025, so.........
What do you call it? Borrowed time? Or just maybe rented?
I'm far from done; only a little backed up.
And I don't have to deal with any wimmin in terms of firearms.
I do like puttin' nice trinkets on 'em, tho'.
It's a fact: Jewelry & flowers are pretty much a sure thing.

Wife & I been married for 44 or 45 years (I'd have to wake her up and ask and that doesn't seem a good idea) but about 20 years ago I bought a new Omega watch. When she found out I what I paid for a watch she went ballistic. We went around screaming at each other for a week. She insisted I return it. I insisted I made the money and was going to keep it. Finally at the dinner table with her still yelling at me I surrendered. I said I would take it back the next morning - if she took back her jewelry. We haven't argued since about what toys we consider important or how much it cost.
