My father was a Police Officer for 30 years and he had these in a drawer. The only Colt he carried was a Detective Special and these sure won't fit that!. Any idea what these will fit?

Sure. They look like they came off an early (late 60s early 70s) Trooper Mark III because the lines of scalloped checkering around the medallion just blend into the stocks, as opposed to the earlier Trooper stocks where the scalloped checkered area around the medallion is raised (proud) a little above the medallion. Go check out "Trooper" photos and see what you think. They look great - go find something to put them on!
They sure do look like the Trooper grips. I don't know where he got them but they look new. No screw though...have to look around in the rest of the drawers again, maybe I'll find a Python!
Those are Colt Mark III Target grips.
Usually used on the Trooper Mark III, later used on the various fixed sight Mark III revolvers like the Lawman, etc.

Early version has silver Colt medallions, later Colt started using Gold on all guns.

Yep..Trooper MK III "J" frame stocks. They will not fit the python "I" frame.
Thanks guys. Appreciate the info.
I have 6 different Trooper 111's and 4 of them have those stocks....
