This is so true.
Some day you will see more fakes than real factory boxes and with our luck, people will think the real boxes are the fake ones.
We will then have to prove that our real boxes are in fact REAL. Arghhhhhhh !!!!

I know the feeling already. My father bought a Python in 1990 and sent it back in the original box because the front sight wasn't vertical. Colt sent it back to him in a new box with no markings, labels, etc.
Who would believe me if I advertised it as genuine? I suppose I'll keep it and avoid the hassle.
There are many threads here about how to tell the real from the fake boxes.Do a little searching and you will find your answer.IMHO it isn't a sticky because we don't want to give the fakers expert opinion on how to make thier bogus boxes more realistic.....Mike
