If you had the money what would be your top 5 Colts to own for appreciation and collecting? Here is my top 5.
1.Anaconda 4" Under priced
2.Anaconda 6" Under priced
3.King Cobra 4" or 6" Bargin
4.Any Nickel Diamondback.Over priced but still on my list.
5.Any Blue Diamondback under 700.00
All would be NIB or NIC.Am I wrong? Lets here it.
I think the SAA or way to high,Pythons with few exceptions are to high,Heck maybe they are all too high but I just got to have them.Input appreciated.

The early swing-out cylinder double actions with condition, especially the 3" nickel guns. These are the M-1889 D.A New Navys, M-1892/95 New Armys/New Navys, the 1905 USMC model, and the Officers Model through about 1908 6" blue only). Premiums for the Military issues with good to great condition.

If I had the money I would NOT be employed in banking!

I would own a:

Pristine U.S. military contract SAA
New condition 1st generation SAA .38 WCF 4 5/8-inch barrel blue/case
100% early style frame New Service
Flawless Pre WWI Gov't issue Model 1911
Perfect Gov't issue Model 1911A1

...and a NIB Smith & Wesson Triplelock, .44 Special blue with 4-inch barrel /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

If I had the money, well folks, start the music and clear your throats and singalong:

"The Pinkey, the Pinkey and the brain, brain, brain, brain, brain!"

Courtesy of Warner Brothers Looney Tunes.

Now seriously:

The number of 5 guns to choose from means that I can participate in this little questionair, since I'm only allowed 5 guns on my permit.

1. Colt Diamondback 6" .22 Blue (already got one)
2. Colt Python 6" Royal Blue ( O, what great joy: got one!)
3. Colt Anaconda 6" 45 Long Colt ( testosteron-story, will start looking)
4. Colt King Cobra Blue 6" .357 mag ( needle in a haystack)
5. Colt Boa 6" (yeah, right)

This is an easy choice for me. I would get a Colt SAA. Not some cheap replica made by a name you never heard of. I want an original with the Colt name and logo engraved in the steel and grips. Most young guns my age favor a semi auto, but for me I just love the look and feel of an SA revolver.

If I had the money, it'd be a lot more than five, but since that's the limit:

1. NIB 1st gen. SAA, 4 3/4 in. .38-40 (factory engraved o.k.)
2. NIB Shooting Master
3. Pre-70 1911A commercial, "A" engraved, factory ivories
4. Mint Lightning .22
5. 1st year 4" Python, NIB

I agree with the SAA revolver,1st generation. The history alone of the SAA makes it invaluable to me. And like stated before it feels good to hold it, heavy, and having to pull the hammer back to shoot it each time, is so cool. I can't get enough of watching Westerns with the SAA in the center of all the gunfights. Especially the ones with "The Duke" firing away with his SAA, and spinning it several times before holstering it. Bring back the OLD WEST!!!
