I would like to have either a Dissy carbine or Dissy upper half but that is not a good price for a police trade-in, brand new Colt LE6920 M4 carbines could be had for $995 if you look around.

Did you also notice that in the description it said 1/9 heavy barrel, also it have a commercial type collapsible stock (not a Colt made mil-spec stock group)?

CDNN had them before at the same price as you posted, here are some older threads about it.

Do you happen to know how many Dissapator stye carbines Colt made? They were never in their catalog or sold to the public. I think you are mistaken on the pricing but everyone has their opinion. Got one of the 4 I ordered in today.Definitely not a pencil barrel, just turned at the end.

As far as I know nobody knows how many dissipator style carbines was made, from what I read Colt will make any configuration, even with special roll mark and model numbers if there are a minimum of 300 units in an order.

Yes you're correct the dissipator carbine was never in any Colt catalog but they actually have an official model number which is AR6536, they was sold to LE only around 2003, info from a factory Colt rep.

Some more info from the factory are, 16.1" HBAR (heavy profile under the handguards), 1/9 twist (you have to remove your handguards to see this barrel marking behind the shaved gas block), chrome lined barrel, A2 upper from model AR6520 Gov't Carbine, AR6520 A2 Gov't Carbine lower receiver with LE restricted markings on right side of magwell, fixed A2 buttstock, A2 front and rear sights, rifle length handguards, bayonet lug, and muzzle brake.

These same law enforcement trade-in dissipator carbines were first advertised from CDNN catalog early this year for $1,299.99, then they lowered it Summer time for $999, then last Fall (Sept.) they lowered it again to $899.

The barrels are from the Colt AR6721 HBAR heavy barrel, turned 0.625" at the rifle front sight base location, the front sight base are not "F" marked and had not been drilled for the gas tube pin, they used the AR6520 A2 Gov't Carbine upper and lower receivers, and had originally fixed A2 buttstocks from the factory but maybe the police department replaced the stock with commercial 6 position collapsible carbine buttstock.

They're a nice rare model for collection that's for sure, but personally I do not prefer the heavy contour barrel under the handguards, and yes I have a model 2010 Colt AR6721 HBAR carbine (flattop), in the future I'm planning on making my AR6721 carbine into a dissipator like the factory except I will definitely re-profile the barrel under the handguards to 0.640" gov't profile to make the front end lighter.

Congrats, let us know how it shoots.

Nice looking rifle - I'm thinking of ordering one. I love the Dissapator style, although I'd likely put a correct full stock back on it. I used to have a Bushy Dissapator model and regret selling it - would be worthy to replace it with a rare Colt model. What's the inside look like? Also does it have the sear block? It looks to be in excellent condition on the outside.

I am putting my a1 stock on it for sure. It does not have a block and looks to have been fired very little judging from the internals. The one thing that surprised me is it did not come with a fa bc. I am rectifying that as well.
