I found an online copy of Lyman Reloading Handbook 44th Edition. It is from 1967. In the .45 Colt data it lists a 250 grain bullet, Lyman #454190, with IMR 4227 powder, starting with 19 grains at 846 fps going up to 23 grains at 1063 fps.
It says the firearm used for this test was a Colt S.A.A. with a 5 1/2" barrel and a 1-16" twist. Since this was written in 1967 I am just wondering what people think of these loads nowdays?
Here is a link to the book. Warning, it might take a long time to download.
