I recently purchased a 1972 Colt DS and it was missing the ejector rod head. I have tried numerich (sp) parts but they are out of stock. Any chance someone has one lying around? Thanks in advance...Randy

Detective Specials have generations now?
Yes, rather arbitrary. Possibly started by The Blue Book. These aren't really called "Generations", they're known as "Issues".
The "Generation" idea is a Single Action term often being misused for other Colt's.

The Blue Book counts the DS as made from 1927 to 1946 as the First Issue. This lumps the DS with the square butt of 1927-1933 and the round butt of 1933 to 1946 as the same Issue. Others dispute where the breaks in Issues are.

Thanks to all...Randy
Thanks again to the gentleman that suggested I call Ahlman's to see fi they had my ejector rod head. They did and shipped it to me for a total cost of $ 8.00. Very pleased with doing business with them!
