I suppose based on deterioration the bottom grip frame is made from a different material than the hammer and frame. Which would indicate something other than a Colt SAA.

BTW, there's still a 10 day wait to buy that gun in CA ...... ;)

The best I can do is...there used to be a gun there somewhere.
Just for grins, I looked up the serial number. It could be anything from an 1848 Fluck Pre-1st Model Dragoon up to a 1957 Python or a 1971 '51 Navy.

Dance Bros. in Texas made revolvers during the Civil War, and are distinguished by their lack of a recoil shield. The relic shown does not appear to have a recoil shield. Less than 500 of the Dance Brothers revolvers made, so there is the problem of the serial number.
