Hello everyone;

Yesterday one of my firearms safety course students came by and said he had something for me. I thought "What a nice thing for him to do" He bought a bunch of stuff he said, at an auction and thought that I would like to have this.

Isn't that just great when someone you barely know does something like this for you? I am constantly amazed at the kindness of people every day.

Anyway, here it is lads, and if this has any value to anyone, let me know if you'd like to have it and it's yours.

I had the same kit only in a rifle version when I was a kid.
Back then a lot of gun cleaning kits came in those metal boxes. I used the boxes for years to store gun cleaning gear in.

I have the same kit that I bought many years ago and I still use it.

I also have the exact cleaning kit. it belonged to my uncle.

Like everything, there are collectors and a complete kit with outer cardboard carton and oil can goes from $25 to $50 pending condition. Oil cans are collectible by themselves so more valuable kits will be missing the oiler sometimes. Caliber and condition. Kits are like guns, you have Ruger to Colt.... Outers to Abercrombie. I need to clear out a garage myself.

Found about a dozen of these in a small sporting goods store in a nearby town about 1970. Gave most of them away, but now you can put a couple of zeros after the 25 for current value.

I have several of these same kits but I didn't know they were old,hell I've only been using mine for about 40 or 50 yrs.

I have the same kit for 22's. Don't remember how long I have had it.

I have the same kit as well except the boxes with the oil and solvent are gone. The cleaning rod, jags and brushes are still there tho. Nice old metal boxes.

It pre-dates ZIP codes on the busisness address. Wasn't that about 1962-63? Don't know when Outers came into being.
