I noticed it has a wide front sight and wide square notch rear sight which were not, as far as I know, used in 1902. Could that indicate a Colt factory rework after they began using the wide sights? I also see in picture #13 a partial stamp on the right side of the trigger guard which might be an ampersand and which I believe would also indicate a factory rework. The barrel marking "(BISLEY MODEL) 38 SPECIAL" is puzzling. There is a picture of the bore, does the type of rifling give any clue as to when it was made?
