I've got this Trooper mk3 that has a broken hammer as you can tell from the pix. My issue is that I was looking for a replacement hammer for it and all the ones I'm coming up with DONT look like mine. They look like they have the firing pin built into it whereas mine is just a hammer that hits a firing pin block. (that's what it looks like, I know nothing about revolvers) Do you guys have some insight for my newbie self? Thanks!!!

The Colt Trooper MkIII has a frame mounted firing pin so your gun is correct. Some earlier Troopers (not MkIIIs) had hammer mounted firing pins.

I appreciate that colt75, do you happen to know where I can order a new hammer? All I've turned up is the older style hammers.

RideNaked,Go to the Nutmeg Sports website, under Colt Gun Parts. They (Jim Aliamo) currently list a J frame hammer, like yours but in nickel, for $75.Regards, Coop
