WOW I wonder where he found the "matching box".......RR
Well said.Seems like the old saying "buy the gun, not the story" has now become "buy the gun, not the story and be sure to question the box." I'd love to post more photos of original Colt boxes to my site as I have many original variations that I know collectors would enjoy seeing, but the box fakers have created a huge disincentive for me to do so. There's no point in educating them. It's a shame it's come to this.Well said.Sam

I believe you're correct. I have a 1922 that's been well worn, finish is typical of little blue and lots of patina and my VP stamp on my trigger guard is quite clear. If you'll notice the pistol in the auction there is only the faintest right corner of that VP left. Yep, refinished AND Fake boxed. It's a WINNER FOLKS !!!!!I think the pistol could possibly be refinished as well.
If history is any indicator, GB will not intervene. Most reports and/or claims submitted to GB fall on deaf ears unless it involves credit card/payment fraud and then they refer you over to your credit card company. They like the fees and don't police their site for misrepresentation. While a noble effort and I applaud your action, it will, most likely, be ignored.I just submitted a fraud claim with Gunbroker. Maybe if enough people do the same we can at least get him booted off gunbroker. Just go to "Help" at the top of the page, "contact support" and click on "fraud" in the drop down menu. It takes two minutes.
