Hi all, I've got an old Colt my dad bought when I was about 11. An old man had it in the trunk of his car and it was all rusted up. (Was probably someones pride and joy at one time as it has a very nice set of grips on it) My dad cleaned the rust off with a wire wheel on a bench grinder. Dad's gone now and the gun is mine. It's got small pits all over it but it locks up tight and the action is very smooth, it's the most accurate pistol I've ever seen. I know it's not worth anything but even if it hadn't belonged to my dad for so long I'd keep it for the accuracy alone. It's a 38 spcl marked officers model heavy barrel. Serial number 5995xx. can anyone tell me when it was made?
