I just got mine at my LGS. They’re a stocking Colt dealer and do a good job of keeping Pythons, King Cobras and Anacondas in stock. They got two of the 6” .22’s in and sold both of them on the same day, one of them to me. I’ve put about 450 rounds through it in the last few days and it’s an excellent shooter.

Here’s a trip once around the cylinder at 25 yards with Federal 36 grain HVHP ammo (plinking ammo, basically).

edited to add: I find the fiber optic bead a little distracting for real target work. I might actually take the brass bead off of my Cobra and put it on the King Cobra .22. The FO sight might be more welcome on the snubby. I think with better sights and ammo, the King Cobra is a 1” 25 yard gun.

The DA pull is 9lbs and smooth and the SA pull is 3 lbs, 12-14 oz but very crisp with no creep and little overtravel. I’d like to get the SA pull down to 2.5-3lbs if possible. The narrow trigger accentuates the weight to some extent. No complaints for a factory trigger though! Colt has it all over S&W lately in the out-of-the-box trigger department. Thinking about sending it to Frank Glenn for a “massage.” It doesn’t really need it but it would make an excellent gun even better. Wish list items would be a wider target hammer and trigger set, and maybe Wilson sights? Wilsons should fit but I have seen a few reports of them not mating perfectly.

Yes, Frank is a master but realistic about what can be accomplished. I don’t need the DA lighter as it’s smooooooth as all-get-out already. I’ll see if I can push him to get my SA trigger down to 2.5lbs. :)

what happened with your King Cobra that Colt had to replace it?

Agreed!
I just put the Kensight Elliason sights on my King Cobra .22 and I like ‘em, maybe better than the Wilsons. I also swapped out the gold bead from my 2” Cobra to the KC .22 and put the fiber optic on the snubby. Good all around.

I’d love to see a target hammer AND trigger for these guns. They got the trigger pull right, mine’s super smooth and light in DA and SA, but a wider trigger and large spur hammer would be most welcome. I do about 50/50 of my shooting DA and SA.
