Could anyone tell me if the Colt King Cobra came from Colt with wooden grips?
I have an early model (Serial#: AY69756) of the King Cobra that's equipped with the rubber Pachmayer grips but would much rather have the wooden grips on it if they came that way.

The standard King Cobra shipped with Pachmayr "Gripper" grips with Gold Colt medallions.
Since the Trooper Mark V, King Cobra, and Anaconda all had the same grip frame and used the same grips they were interchangeable.
The Trooper Mark V shipped with wood, and some limited models of the King Cobra and Anaconda shipped with various wood grips.
Wood grips would not be "correct" for a King Cobra but wouldn't be totally out of place.
I tried the wooden grips from my Colt Trooper Mark II and those from my Colt Border Patrol but neither one of those fit. It looks like Im now on the prowl for a pair of wooden greips from a Colt Trooper Mark V then.
