I have a new King Cobra 2” and need a owb holster for it and I’m not having much luck finding one. What are you guys using? Any suggestions? Thanks

Until some holster makers have new designs produced about all you can do is find a generic nylon holster to use. While some leather holsters for other designs may be close it's the trigger guard shape that makes it tough.

OK...I did a test. This is an old Bucheimer holster for a D-frame 2". It shows the new Cobra and King Cobra will fit as long as the holster has an exposed trigger guard. I don't have a similar holster with an enclosed trigger guard so I cannot say conclusively the new design with the elongated trigger guard won't work.

With the new King Cobra with 3" barrel which is a bit longer than the holster is designed for...

So all one needs to do is look for a line of holsters for a D-frame with an exposed trigger guard and you're good to go. While I used this holster some years ago when working I have since come to believe a holster with a covered trigger guard is better from a safety point of view...but this design never gave a problem either...safety is first in your brain.

I hope this helps.

The new Cobra and King Cobra are not Colt "D" frame models.
The old "D" frame was discontinued and replaced in 1995 with the then-new Colt "SF" frame.
This was Colt's new transfer bar safety-ignition model based on the original Mark III-King Cobra design.
Guns in this short lived series were the Colt SF-VI, DS-II, and Magnum Carry.

I haven't heard what designation Colt has given the new Cobra and King Cobra, but it would be the "SF" frame before it would be a "D" frame.
The actual frame and cylinder diameter of the "SF" frames and the new models are the same size as the old Colt "D" frame with some changes to beef up the frame in the top strap area.
The limiting feature of the new models is the re-shaped trigger guard that prevents it fitting holsters with covered trigger guards made for the older "D" or "SF" frames.

There are at least several makers now offering holsters specifically for the new models, but I can't remember who they were.
The info was posted on another forum.

I just did a little searching here's a few makers who list holsters for the New 2017 Cobra or the New King Cobra

Best suggestion is to just call some of the better holster makers and ask if they offer models for the new Colt's.

FYI...I contacted El Paso Saddlery and they're making holsters for the new Cobra and King Cobra. I was told that any model holster they make for a Colt D-frame they can now make for the new revolvers and their elongated trigger guards.

People comment often on the odd shape of the new Colt's trigger guard.
The new Cobra and King Cobra have a different trigger assembly design that has a different movement then the older Colt's and the trigger itself has less curve then the older models.

The new trigger guard shape is to prevent pinching the trigger finger.
Some other newer guns also have odd shaped guards for the same reason.

As example, the Kahr Arms automatics.......
