It's been pretty slim pickens lately for me as far as SAA's but I saw this 1898 4-3/4 .45 at my friends LGS. I liked it cause it looks unmolested, Plus it's 4-3/4" .45, Good bore and and functions like it should.
Here are my two Colts
Top one was my Grandfathers, he was a cowboy in the early 1900's in Colorado where my Father was born. Sent a letter to Colt, gun was made in 1901 or 1902 can't remember, fact sheet is in the safe. All serial numbers match, 217xxx. 5 1/2" 32-20. Can still see some bluing and color case. I am in my 70's and will be passing this to my son.
The other Colt I purchased new in box a few years ago. Called a Pinto with blue barrel and grip frame, case color main frame and nickel cylinder. Only made in 1986 in 44spl 5 1/2" also. I shoot both with light cowboy loads using Trail Boss mostly.
