Lawman age and value

Buddy of mine showed me his 2" Lawman, #00600U, NIB. It has never been fired since it left the office.

Any thoughts on its age and value?

00600U was made in 1981.
The year and the "U series started at 00001U and the year ended at 31289U.

Value depends on actual condition, barrel length, and finish.
