As for how many I have, 6 now sold 5 others. oh well can't cry over spilled milk. I would like to get 4 more to make it an even 10. It will be a den of deadly snakes. I'm looking for a used one which I would like to customize a project gun if you will but I don't want it abused. well used okay but not abused.

My vote was for the 30-39 age bracket, and thought I would see more in that one since I know quite a few on here are in that bracket and love Pythons also. So 40/+ has over 83% which surprises me somewhat, but does, in a small way, explain some of the boom on them. Looks like the Python is going to be desired for at least another decade or two :).

Well I am 42 and just bought my first python in August. They were not really on my radar to collect until I stumbled across it and had to have it. I love it and would love to add another one to my collection someday.

big_gus, thanks I love it. I got very lucky in finding this python. Its a 57 and in great shape. Probably will never stumble across another deal as good as that one.
You done very well and I am envious:).
Out of all the Pythons I have owned in the past few years (I have owned 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, and of course the Elites), I have never owned a 1st gen. It is the one which has always eluded me. I haven't even seen one in person for sale yet and I don't bother getting in bidding wars anymore on them online. I did one time have a guy tell me he had one, Like new in the box for $2500 firm at his house. This is when a 100% NIB 2nd or 3rd gen 6 inch was about $1200 to maybe $1400 TOPS. He told me himself he thought the gun was only worth 2000 but I had to pay if I wanted it. I started to make the drive to see it, but this guy is the most worst "Pin Hooker" at the shows and to be completely honest, I cant stand the way he does people so I didn't bother with him. I could tell stories that would make even a decent hearted man sick on stuff he has done to people. Anyway I missed another NIB by less than a day which I never got to see either. Maybe one of these days I will get one, but it will be locally if I do-more than likely.

Also gave Pythons to each of my two sons. One when he was 49 and the other for his 50th birthday. Oops, almost forgot the Python I gave my granddaughter for her 21's birthday. fyi...ALL of my children and grandchildren appreciate the Colts. (The poll does not capture the other Colts I have given them, nor show how broke I am. Grin.)

I was 59 when I got my first Python. I am still 59!
:)

I was 59 when I got my first handgun!

Not that easy in the land downunder.
From the initial thought to actually owning my first handgun
took around 9 months.
But then again I was 7 years old when my Python was built!

Took us a while, but we finally managed to meet!

I am interested in the results of this poll because I read in another forum that the increase in Python prices was directly related to the Python being used in a current video game that is very popular (walking dead) ....I found this hard to believe and stated such as I doubted that the age group I assumed was playing this game had the discretionary income to purchase a Python at todays prices.

Based on the results of this poll so far...I was correct about the age group buying the Pythons...I guess I need to start a new poll asking how many of you elderly Python owners are playing video games :bang_wall:

If you'd have put this poll up a few months ago, I'd have still been in the yellow! :D
I owned my first Python when I was 18 (still have it today). Maybe the poll should read "How old were you when you bought your first Python?"
Interesting poll, but I'm not surprised at the results.
