I might be thick, but I've searched and searched. :bang_wall: I'm looking for a IWB holster for full sized 1911 that doesn't let any part of gun contact my body, and covers entire muzzle/crown. If I could put the MTAC's clips/mounting set up on n82's backing, that would be perfect. I'm still on the fence with leather vs kydex, I hear compelling arguments for both and I've accepted that a carry gun will have character (wear). Sorry in advance if I'm missing something obvious, but any tips appreciated. Maybe someone would custom make it?

There's any amount of IWB holsters with either wide thumb breaks or shrouds on the back side to prevent skin contact, but there's no holster I've ever seen that prevents ALL contact. At least the butt of the gun is going to make contact.
There are also plenty that totally cover the muzzle.

Here's a list of holster makers. Some may be out of business. Start looking, you should have no problem finding what you want.

Great lead star storm, thanks! I was just about to give up and look for someone to do custom spec build. I'm more nuts and bolts than craftsman, but I think I'll give this a try. And if I screw it up at least I'll figure out specs.

One other thought I had is if you combine the leather backing from old faithful and the kydex part from knife kits you will be able to get where you want, not to expensive that if at first you don't hit the mark you could do it again. Hopefully this all works for you and I wish you the best in your endeavor.

I understand what you want as I also searched for just such a holster for my much smaller Sig P938.
I never found one so what I did was cut out the shape I wanted from some nice smooth leather and stitched it onto the back of a holster I already had. Not pretty but very comfortable ;)
If you want to use a hybrid IWB style holster then just have the leather cut to cover the entire gun......should be very easy to get done.

Good idea. I was watching youtubes's on custom building your own holster when I realized I was over thinking it. Gonna grab an MTAC and add leather, duh...

Once again Kevin you pull of the "amazing". As usual, someone needs a little help and not only do you come up with the help needed, but you're there with one of the most comprehensive lists of holster makers I've ever seen.

I've saved that list you've provided for AllDay as I know it will come in handy for me sometime as well.

Thanks again my friend, and as always, outstanding!!

Bud
