Thanks.cheaper to buy a .40 and call it a day. Most people drop a lot of coin doing it and wind up with something that is not as reliable. buy a RIA .40 and save yourself the hassle, imho.

Pickup a .40 Browning Hi Power - double stack mag - designed for the power of the 40 S&W.How hard is it to convert a .45 ACP to .40? What parts are needed?
I had thought of that. I have a .38 Super that was converted to .38 Special probably in the early '60's. I picked up another .38 Super barrel and a 9 MM barrel, all three work just fine. It is just something to do and spend more money on.If you want a 1911 40 just buy a Delta Elite, get a 40 barrel and magazine, or just down load the 10.
