Hi folks,
Before I begin my quest for a Colt Magnum Carry, I should try to pin down the right price.
Assuming excellent condition or better, where is the line between "grab it" and "close, but negotiate"?

Thanks,
Dave

I can't tell from your profile where you are from, and prices sometimes vary by region. You picked a hard one to find, cause as you probably know they only made them for one year, 1999, and they are hard to find, in fact I have seen a couple post of guys looking for one with little or no success. Down here,in Florida, I have only seen one, about two years ago, and the guy would not take less than $650 for it, so you can probably throw out the BB pricing. The fun is in the search though.

Right now over at Guns America there is a Magnum Carry for $500. Seems I recall one for sale some time back for $499 there. I imagine the bidding at the auction sites could drive up the price to around $650 or more but that seems to happen to a lot of different models compared to the fixed price sites.

There you go, if you can find one for $500, BUY IT! I don't think you can find one much better than that. Dick

Nope, not even for $455. Why? I don't know.
It's not as accurate as my 649 and not as light as my 340.

Years ago, when I still carried a Cobra as a BUG, I promised myself that I'd get a .357 snub, if Colt ever made one. I bought the first one I saw, which, according to the dealer, was the first shipped to Tucson. After shooting a box of ammo, I had the `smith install the shroud and I liked it.

I even had to send it back to Colt because it was not accurate enough. They fixed it, I shot it and was satisfied & put it away.

I like it but I don't know why,

John

I've got a Cobra on layaway right now. I started looking for a Magnum Carry because I was impressed by the Colt line and the Magnum Carry is the final incarnation of that line (so far).
I hope that Colt gets back into the small DA revolver game again.

I purchased a Combat Cobra from a fine gentleman lately and it really raised the level of the Magnum Carry. Colt special made these for Lew Horton and they did a very fine job. Colt still produce some mighty fine revolvers.

Sorry about the pic, it really doesn't do it justice. It is one of the best Ultimate SS polishing jobs I have seen.

What a beauty! There you go, guys ... a Colt version of a 2 1/2" model #19, wouldn't you agree? A shortie Lawman with red ramp, stainless and smooth grips? I LIKE what I see and slide further into debt! Thanks for the picture. I'm now a fan, too!
quote:
Originally posted by Majic:
