Mainspring for 6\" .22 Diamondback

Where is a good place to get a new mainspring for my Diamondack? Are there choices in spring strength? I am starting to get a failure about every six shots, SA, with various ammo (less with Federal). Everything is clean, so I suspect the V spring. Thanks.

The top source is:
Gun Parts Corporation http://www.e-gunparts.com

As far as I know, no light weight springs were ever made for the Diamondback revolvers.

One company (Trapper??) did make a spring for the Old model Trooper and Python, but no one ever made one for the Colt "D" framed guns, as far as I know.

Gun Parts Corp is sold out and I didn't see anything in Brownell's catalog, but I never can find anything in that monstrosity. Guess I'll give them a call anyway. Thanks for the reply.

You can get a new spring from either Colt or Brownell's.

The late Colt SF series guns like the DS-II and Magnum Carry used the same spring as the "D" frame guns like the Diamondback.

The spring was used in a different way, but Colt used the same spring as a cost savings.

Check Brownell's for parts for a DS-II or Magnum Carry.
