Just today purchased a Mustang Pocketlite for me to stick in my pocket. A bit scratched up but otherwise seems to be in fairly decent shape.

I anticipate getting a few aftermarket items, metal recoil spring guide, Wulff spring and about two more mags. Maybe even send it out to have that big white luminescent dot from the Ashley Express sights stuck on it.

Now for the question. The gun's safety seems to be held in place by a steel C-shaped clip on the right side of the frame. Is that normal? If so, how strong is that little clip? It really appears to be quite flimsy. Does it need to be and can it be replaced by something more substantial??

Thanks for the help.

Yes, the use of a C-clip as you describe is standard from the factory. I have manipulated the safety of my Mustang PocketLite many thousands of times, including in the course of firing ~1000 rounds through it, and the C-clip shows no wear at all.

I recommend a good pocket holster to reduce the collection of lint, et al.
