Great choice, Congrats! (y)

I want one for my collection, at least they still make them now but with Magpul MBUS2 synthetic folding rear sight and standard M4 waffle stock.

When I was looking for the history of the model LE6940, I found out that in the beginning when this model was introduced, Colt was sued by LMT (Lewis Machine & Tool) for the monolithic design, because LMT owned the patent for that design.

The case was settled and Colt is currently paying LMT royalty of the monolithic upper receiver design.

Let us know how she shoots, enjoy!

You will like your Vortex optics for sure.

I have 3 Vortex optics that I bought several years ago, a SPAC AR gen 1 red dot, SPARC AR gen 2 and 1-4X24 illuminated LPVO (Low Power Variable Optic) all are doing great so far and I'm very satisfied with their flawless performance.

Vortex have lifetime warrantee and known very good customer satisfaction and support. (y)

I'm now saving my coins for a high end Vortex Razor 1-6X24 LPVO for my Colt CR6960 midlength gas system carbine which I'm using mainly for target practice.

Thanks for your show of support and the above write up on your experience with Vortex.

The two Vortex Optics I've chosen came highly recommended by friends running them, and this will be my first experience with Vortex. The prices were right at Optics Planet to boot...

Well...Progress IS being made:

Co-witnessed the Matech Picatinny Rear Ranging Aperture Flip Up BUIS with the Vortex VMX-3T Magnifier ( left side flip ) with the ( 1/4" backoff between ) Vortex Strikefire II Red Dot Sight with the Colt provided Front Flip Up BUIS...and picked up 6 Duramag Blue Anodized Aluminum GI 30 RndMags to show with the 2 Colt stamped Gray Anodized Aluminum GI 20 Rnd Mags that came with my Colt LE6940 M4 Carbine:

So...a few real quick cell phone pics:
