I've looked at Colts for a while now. Seen many very nice ones, always a little (or a lot) out of my price range.

This week I picked up my first ever Colt, a nice 4" revolver called a Trooper MK III. It isn't in NIB condition, but it has been taken very good care of.

I have several Smith revolvers, but this feels a little different in my hand.

Just thought I would share a picture of it with the Forum. I'm guessing an early 70's?, serial number 84XX J.

Thanks for a great forum!

Nice piece! Once you get into Colts, your S&W's will get real lonely on the shelf. I fell in love with Colts, even though I thought they were kind of strange, with their unprotected ejector rod and odd feel. They grow on you and you come to realize they are stripped down to the essentials on the outside and the best lockwork on the inside. Just my opinion.

I think you picked a good one for your first.
