I have been invited to join a living history group promoting
Texas history. My chosen impression is that of a Private in Company F of
the First Regiment Texas Mounted Volunteers (aka Texas Cavalry or Texas Rangers) after some were first issued
their Walkers at Vergara. My outfit will follow that as described during that time period: buckskin
pants and overshirt, tall boots, red undershirt, floppy palm straw hat, Walker with cylinder in the white tucked in a waist belt when dismounted and longarm consisting of a genuine 1840 shortened English double scattergun slung over my shoulder.
