Took the 5 1/2" New Frontier .44 Special to the range this morning. Have had some trouble finfing my favorite, Winchester 231, but HP-38 is the same thing. Here is my latest load using HP-38:



Not too shabby for such a new revolver. Today's session put it t the 380 rounds fired mark.

WHY WOULD THIS BE, SIR, they are the same guns, made out of the same stuff, to the same specs, BY the same people ??

I keep all mine on a business card at 25 yards with a standard SAA. My new frontier one-holes them at that distance. I use 7 grains of Unique behind a 240 grain cast.

FYI, I haven't found any 231 or hp-38 in my area for a few months and recently was turned onto Greendot. I really like it. It's been great in my 45's and is suppose to be excellent in the 44 special.

Very nice revolver. Looks like the stocks have some figure in them too which is unusual for a New Frontier.
