the screw on the sideplate of the gun just above the trigger keeps working it's way loose every time I fire it. After about 200 rounds through the gun it comes out so far that it starts rubbing against the barrel when the crane is down ejecting cartridges or during loading. I keep tightening it as best I can with a screwdriver but that is only a temporary solution. Anything I can do?

While Loctite should do the job, there is also an outside chance the screw at the rear of the sideplate has got mixed up with the front one that you are having trouble with.

I have seen subtle differences in the 2,although they appear "identical" to the naked eye. If you ever take a Colt apart, make sure you "mark" which is front and rear. Yes,some Colts have a "flat rear screw as not to hit on the target style stocks.

What lonewolf said!!
You might also inspect the screw for damaged threads. then dab on a tiny bit of locktite Let it dry and shoot away.
