here are my two old Colt revolvers.

Colt Commando from 1942 in .38spl (in case you didnt know) and
Colt Police Positive Special from 1917 in .38spl...

the PPS was my great grandfathers when he was a sherrif deputy in the NW Hills of Tennessee...

Nice old guns. I had a 4" PPS .38 special back in the '80s. I've got a 4" PPS in .32-20 waiting for me back home next time I get leave from the land of endless beach and camels.

Family guns are definately cool . Try and locate some old photos of him before they get lost . Maybe you could research some old newspapers in that area . Find some history .

NIIIICE. The grips on that Commando look almost as worn as the original grips on my 1944 Official Police. Seen a lot of hand wear and a lot of use. But still alive and kickin'

ive got several pics of my great-grandfather but only one of him with the pistol. you cant see it though hes carrying in a holster...

hes in civilian clothes. story has it that he used to help the revenue folks chase down the bootleggers. i wonder what he would have done if he had caught my grandfather!
