I agree old & worn can be beautiful.

I just picked this one up this week as a birthday present to myself.

While clearly not all original, this one just "speaks to me". Letters as a 4 3/4" blue 45 Colt (which it indeed still is) shipped to El Paso TX. The grip frame is obviously from an earlier gun. The 4 numbers on the nickel plated back strap and trigger guard match each other, so my best guess is these may have come from a Navy Cartridge conversion ??
Someone has scribed their name date and town onto the ivory grips long ago with a date of 1890. Ran a few light rounds through it the other day and was quite happy with the group. :) This is my first, and likely only SAA although I do have a very small modest collection of other Colt's.

I'm really enjoying this thread. I like 'em with some wear on 'em.
