I have a Colt revolver, I think from the 1850's to 1870's but need help regarding how I identify exactly what is is. there is a serial number on the trigger guard. Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks.
Need a lot more information to be posted, a picture would be a big help if that's possible. Is it a percussion revolver or is it setup for cartridge ammunition? Is there a wedge of metal under the barrel, that when it's pushed to the side comes out and lets the barrel assembly be removed? Does the cylinder have a roll-mark (engraved) scene, and what does it look like? What caliber is it (what diameter is the hole through the barrel, 5/16", 3/8" or 7/16")? How long is the barrel? How long is the cylinder? What diameter is the cylinder?
