Need Python wood stocks advice

I have a purchased new Stainless steel 6" Python (KT0xxx) and it came with a one piece Pachmayr "GRIPPER" grip. I'm starting to look into finding a proper period set of wood grips. My current set of medallions show only half of the Colt pony whereas all of the wood grips that I have seen for sale show a full sized Colt pony. Were there wood grips produced showing the half pony or is that just indicative to the black rubber grips or my Python's late 80's early 90's production?

You will want 3d generation walnut target stocks, which will have full Rampant Colt.

The 150th commemorative wood stocks ,such as on 1986 Double Diamond Python, do have 1/2 Rampant Colt however.

Would you have a pic showing the full Rampant Colt vs the 1/2 Rampant Colt ?

Yes, there were third generation Colt Python grips/stocks with the half horse medallions.

Jim - if going totally correct, you may need Gen 2 grips in addition to the medallions.

Looks like mine are 2nd Gen originals. The medallions look silver in the photo but are indeed gold

I now have photos of the four generations of wood grips in my docs so now I know what to look for, gen3 grips.

I have late gen II with nickel hardware if you are interested. Late Gen II or early Gen III with nickel hardware, all factory
