Aye-GAWD but that is one ugly Colt.

I can get past the stutter-struck patent/logo but damn.... that grip, the gold, the tone of the 'blue' and even the case hardening is hideous to me. I feel like I've been on the wrong end of a combination punch from the ugly-stick.

My 1906 in .41Colt has the Circle and Colt double stamped but not the Patent Dates

Over the years the I have found some double struck parts on my garands. Pictured below is a HRA op-rod and somewhere in my parts box is a early trigger guard stamped 3X.
I'm surprised the QC inspector let that Colt SAA get shipped.

I have a second generation nickel that looks perfect except the logo of the horse is light. The roll markings stand up and other markings look right. I've had two people with considerable experience look at it and they say it's not been refinished, just sometimes stamps are not perfect.

One dealer told of getting a brand new handgun - not Colt - with no serial numbers. He called the manufacturer and they wanted it back PDQ.
