greeting i am looking to buy a pair of colt new army-navy revolvers can someone please tell me which parts should have assembly number and which parts serial numbers ?

Without making it complicated,the butt,on the bottom will have the serial numbers & grips dont cover it. It is usually 2 lines,unless it is a 3 digit serial number. Numbers are put on the width of the butts bottom,not its length,hence not enough room for 1 line. Bud

hi lonewolf, which parts should have a matching assembly numbers?? this is basically what i need to know ?/

rj; the cylinder latch,inside of crane,& inside of frame where the crane rests when closed should have the same assembly number. Serial number is also INSIDE of the sideplate,which is held on by 2 screws on right side of gun. Bud
