Hi everyone, brand new to this forum. I just picked up my brand new Colt 1991 Gov't model and while I was cleaning it noticed that the slide is stamped Commanders model instead of the Government model. Just to be sure i measured it and it is the Gov't model, the box say so to and the serials are spot on.

How many do you think slipped through QC before they noticed? Think this will add to the value of the gun down the road? Part of me wants to keep it as is, but another part wants the proper markings....would Colt send me the proper slide?

Thanks for any help,

michael

Wish I had one. I'd put it on Gunbroker, asking $1,000 over Colt's MSRP on a Government. Of course, I'd use the word "rare."

On another forum a poster said that he was claiming that his "Commander" marked Government was an ultra rare long slide Commander model...
