The highest NF current production serial# I've observed is NF211xx. If correct, Colt has manufactured less than 1,200 New Frontier revolvers since reintroduced in 2011. These are high quality fit/finish with removable full length cylinder bushings just like current SAA's.

With the removable cylinder bushing and new Elliason rear sight, I wonder if the new New Frontiers since 2011 will ever be called 4th generation.

just received my NFSAA with S/N 02209NF which is build 1978 according the listing. Nevertheless the gun has German proof marks from 1989.
It is almost like new, I guess only proof fired in Germany, and it has a marvelous finish.

Has anyone come across listings of New Frontier serial numbers since reintroduction in 2011 since this thread was posted?

No, just like the standard SAAs, there's no where near the amount of changes to justify a "Post War 2nd Model" (4th generation) designation. Like the SAA they're still a "Post War New Model" (3rd gen).

I recently bought a NIB New Frontier, SN NF202XX. As near as I can put it, it was produced in 2012. Does that seem reasonable?

I bought this New Frontier NIB from another Forum member. Serial #NF21069 which dates it to 2014.
